I used a cheap cutting of meat and half the amount chosen for (beef stew meat--hey, on a tight food budget!) and merely a pound which meant a) I had to simmer my meat just a piffling longer and b) I doubled the mushrooms so I could fake the bodily corporeality of meat I used. I used dijon mustard and I added a teaspoon each of dried basil and dried oregano. I did NOT add the extra salt as there was plenty in the beefiness broth I used. I served this with buttered egg noodles and roasted broccoli. Anybody loved it. There'south just plenty for someone to re-warm for lunch tomorrow. Very practiced.

This is admittedly delicious! The only thing I would modify to brand it a fool-proof dish is to use beef tenderloin for the meat--it cooks faster and is ever tender. Information technology'southward worth the extra $$ for special occasions. I didn't happen to accept wine on paw, and substituted ruby-red wine vinegar for the marinade, and it added a nice tang to the roux. If you're not fond of spicier flavors, it'south fine to omit the red pepper. This is gourmet eating--call up to leave a tip for the cook!

My husband raved about this recipe! I did not marinate in red wine, and the flavor was keen without it. As other reviewers mentioned, I subbed dijon for yellow mustard. Instead of red pepper flakes, I used a pinch of ground cayenne. Also, this recipe can be completed with a slow cooker for 4-five hours on depression; add together the sauteed mushrooms a half hour before the end of cooking fourth dimension. I found that the gravy was a footling thin in the slow cooker, and so added some corn starch just before serving. You will dearest this recipe! The sour cream and cream cheese add the depth of flavor that makes this stroganoff "rich and creamy." Thank you, sanfrancook.

Oh. My. Give-and-take. You know those recipes that yous merely have to attempt because they have 3,000+ five-star ratings, and they plow out to exist AWESOME? This deserves thousands of five-star ratings! I left out the ruddy pepper flakes and added the vino with the sauce ingredients instead of marinating. I used one/2 C. sour foam and 4 oz. cream cheese. I served it over Spaetzle noodles imported from Federal republic of germany. Simple words are inadequate to describe how good this is!

Very tasty and succulent Stroganoff. I used the remainder of my Christmas Prime number Rib, cut into thin strips instead of the chuck roast recommended. Sauteed the onions, garlic and mushrooms together, prepare aside and proceeded with the rest of the recipe, following the directions as written. Just sub I made was using dijon mustard instead of yellow prepared. I served over a hearty home-manner egg noodle and heard nothing simply mmmm's effectually the table. Thanks for sharing a great and like shooting fish in a barrel recipe. Volition make once more for certain.
01/18/2015
Used a cut of summit sirloin every bit that's all I had available without going to the store for chuck roast. Stroganoff was very creamy and thick, merely I found the wine marinade to be a tad strong and made the "gravy" somewhat sharp even cooking downwardly for the allotted time. I'll cutting back on the vino next time and it should exist perfect. Very good recipe. Thank you for sharing Sanfrancook.
10/13/2011
Splendid recipe. Followed every bit written, used a cast fe pan. Volition definitely make again, would exist perfect for company.

Loved it even more before adding the foam cheese & sour cream... so next time I make this I'll leave those 2 things out. I fabricated the following variations since I do Non similar tough or chewey meat & didn't want to take a chance so I did this portion of the recipe using a deadening cooker. ... I used a beef round roast that I sliced 1/2" thick slices; (I used an inexpensive cherry-red wine -Terrenal Cabernet Sauvignon - from trader joe'south) marinated, pat dry, sear each side in olive oil, then immediately put into slow cooker, saute onions & garlic in butter, olive oil, splash of vino, pinch of table salt.. added to dull cooker along with remaining marinade & all the other liquids & seasonings listed... permit cook iii hours on high. When done, use all goop from tedious cooker when post-obit directions for "Steps #3..." ... the sauce was creamy & so tastey. Personally, I feel the cream cheese & sour cream are optional when using a boring cooker for beef. Tip: for noodles, try this recipe: Grandma'south Butter Noodles by Momofaddy. Delicious!!

Best recipe I've plant for Stroganoff! I used white wine instead of red and next time I'll cut the crushed ruby-red pepper in one-half. We love some spice only this was a little besides much for u.s..
07/15/2012
We've made this a couple times at present. The first time the spice was overpowering, and this last fourth dimension the flavor was just bad. The meat had no flavor, and the gravy just wasn't good.

Definitely v-star! I've never been a huge fan of stroganoff--information technology was always something my mom made as something to do with leftover Dominicus roast, so I have used it the same mode. And, for me, it'southward always been somewhat "ho-hum." But this? Wow...I simply made it with some leftover meat and my married man and I were practically licking our plates! I can't await to make it fresh, with all fresh ingredients. I too used canned mushrooms 'cause that'south all I hand on hand. If this only gets better with fresh, marinated beef equally well as fresh mushrooms I CAN'T Look to make it over again. Thank you very much for this recipe SanFranCook!

At that place are SO MANY ways to vary this recipe, that I tin't even begin to put information technology all down. We have eaten this recipe in some class at least twice a month since I found it about a year ago. The original recipe is very practiced, but y'all can do it yet you want and I hope, you Can'T mess it upwardly. --I Ever add the foam cheese and sour foam before I add together the meat back and I always utilise basis beefiness (mode cheaper to feed our family unit). Things to endeavour that we accept washed and LOVED every fourth dimension: --Don't have vino? No problem, but don't apply information technology and add a wee bit more than Worcestershire....Withal tastes awesome! --Spicy Chocolate-brown mustard substituted for yellow and 3x every bit much! --Likewise thick? Just add more beefiness broth! --Don't have beef broth on mitt? Just use beef bullion and water.... Can't tell the divergence. My husband absolutely loves this stuff and when I say "Stroganoff Night!", he really talks nigh how much he loves my stroganoff the ENTIRE time until it is washed! P.S. This entire meal can be fabricated in less than an hour if need be. I never simmer for an hour at the end. Merely go meat cooked (ten-15 mins for ground beef), cook down onions and mushrooms together (5-10 mins), get the sauce function all mixed upwardly (twenty mins max) and add together meat back in, simmer while wide egg noodles eddy (10-12 mins), and presto! Dinner in an hour! :)
10/26/2011
This was the all-time stroganoff I've ever made....my married man called information technology "absolutely delicious"! The only thing I did not really like was the flavor the meat took on from marinating in wine; next fourth dimension I volition not marinate meat, only will add the wine to the sauce...information technology gives the sauce some depth.
09/10/2012
Best beefiness stroganoff e'er! I did a couple things differently. I did not marinade the beef and I browned in a dutch oven in 3 batches. I added the mushrooms with the onion and garlic and left them in the pot. Instead of simmering on the stove, I covered and braised in 325 oven for ane hr 40 minutes. Very good!
01/04/2012
SOOOO Skilful! I'm xix years old and just moved out into my own apartment. I havn't cooked very many meals but figured I'd give this a shot. I followed the recipe and it turned out astonishing! Everybody liked information technology, even my beau who was a scrap sceptical told me to make information technology over again! I found the gravy to be a chip too thick, and so I added more beef broth to thin it out until I got the desired consistency. Besides, the recipe says information technology serves eight. I served 4 people with this and we were scraping the bottom of the pan, so I don't know how anyone could feed 8 with this! Other than that, it was a delicious recipe and I will be making information technology again for sure :)
02/27/2012
WOW, this was yummy! Pretty much followed the recipe exactly, except that I was talking on the phone and added a little too much flour which meant more than goop. Didn't intendance though, the gravy is amazing!! Thank you for a great "first" for me!!
02/24/2012
This recipe is FANTASTIC. You tin use footing beefiness and exit out the 1hr simmer. I used sherry in the place of ruddy vino and cooked the mushrooms (doubled them- I had alot) a couple of minutes after I put in the onions. Likewise used margarine instead of butter, Fat gratuitous plain yogurt instead of sour cream, and FF cream cheese. So good!!
02/01/2012
Very tasty. Just had 1lb. of ground beef so I used that and doubled the mushrooms to compensate. Still used the reddish wine, but not as a marinade, but straight into the sauce. Reduced the reddish pepper flakes. Added oregano and basil, may have used a little extra cream cheese. Served over elbow macaroni.
03/11/2012
Very, very good. A piffling bit of work, but well worth it. I ended up making ii changes: ane out of necessity and one out of frugality. I substituted white wine for the called-for red in the marinade ... considering I didn't have any carmine wine in the firm (or at least none that i wanted to open for the amount needed for the marinade). I suspect the event would accept been *slightly* amend, had I used scarlet wine. The other modify I made was to use the "remaining grease" from the browned beefiness instead of the burning beefiness broth. The "grease" was largely very valuable beefiness essence; it would have been criminal to pour it down the bleed and open up a tin can of commercial broth! In any event the final result was a very tasty contribution to a potluck last night. The crushed red pepper added but the right corporeality of zing. Don't leave it out (I used the minimum amount)! I poured the completed stroganoff over a pot of buttered egg noodles in a covered casserole and hitting the road! Yum!
xi/26/2012
A M A Z I Due north G! Loved this 1. Will definitely make again. I followed exactly and information technology was perfection. A niggling alert though, I beloved spicy, I hateful Love, and it has a kick... that I love, simply for those who don't, you might want to go calorie-free on the ruddy pepper flakes.
xi/xv/2011
This recipe was really practiced. I but fried the beef in a skillet and mixed in all the ingridients without pre-frying or marinating and it tasted great :) And instead of melting butter and adding flour, I cooked the meat in the broth. There was no need for a thicker gravy I think :)
08/15/2012
Finally - the perfect stroganoff recipe!! I didn't take cream cheese, and so I omitted it and bumped upwards the sour foam, and information technology was wonderful.
08/09/2012
I have never made Stroganoff earlier, merely I was so pleased with the consequence of this recipe. My married man was full merely kept eating. It was truly delightful! One thing that I did wrong was that the meat did not stay tender. Maybe that'due south normal. If anyone has whatsoever suggestions please permit me know. I will be making this over again.
12/21/2011
This was yummy! To be fair, I did modify information technology a bit. I used beefiness shank bones simmered for several hours, shredded the meat and used the broth in the recipe. I also used a piddling extra goop and milk to thin the sauce. I used white wine instead of red, since I prefer the season. I cut back on the reddish pepper flakes and at that place was still a chip of kick, fifty-fifty with approximately i tsp. I likewise added i Tbsp of cherry wine vinegar. At that place is no need to follow the instructions quite so closely. I merely cooked the meat, cooked the veggies together, fabricated the sauce and threw everything together! It was really expert and this will be my standard recipe from at present on!
12/28/2011
This is an case of how to use leftover prime number rib and also lasagna noodles. I started the recipe with the sauteeing of the garlic and the shallots I used in place of the onion. I too used less scarlet pepper flakes. Otherwise I fabricated this according to the instructions. It was delicious. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.
11/02/2012
Perfect!
12/05/2011
This was splendid! I was as well tired last night to measure everything only i put all the ingredients in with a general idea of measurements. It was seriously fantastic! Good beefy taste my hubby prefers with his Stronganoff. Thank You!
11/01/2011
VERY VERY VERY YUMMY!!!! The flavor of this recipe is awesome ~ my four-yr-old is even enjoying it! I didn't change a affair in the recipe...made it as written (with the the exception that I forgot to save the marinade, so used fresh red vino instead of the marinade toward the terminate). Still turned out fantastic! THANK You FOR THIS RECIPE! **Update** Forgot to mention I OMITTED the red pepper flakes from this recipe...my iv yr old isn't keen on anything even slightly spicy. Turned out great fifty-fifty without them!!!
12/24/2011
EXCELLENT!!! Used a flat Iron Roast, merely followed the recipe otherwise. Definitely a keeper!
02/22/2015
Husband challenged me to brand beefiness stroganoff, plant this recipe and tried information technology! Loved it! Afterward browning the meat, I put the meat and juice in the bowl and later incorporated information technology back in. Used dijon mustard for yellow, and finely chopped most of the mushrooms since my 5 year sometime won't eat the slices! Made this twice and thinking adjacent time might effort information technology in the crock pot. Cheers for this succulent recipe!
10/07/2012
Thanks SanFran! I didn't modify a thing, it was super. I accept trouble with roux sometimes, so the iv minutes was perfect. My house smelled similar heaven.
09/twenty/2013
Adjusted this to make a mushroom stroganoff. I used a 12 oz pkg. cremini mushrooms, sour cream, tsp. dijon mustard, iv reg. sized cloves of garlic, red vino, worcestershire sauce, one shallot, 2 green onions, and fresh parsley. Served it over egg noodles. DELICIOUS
12/05/2011
VERY good!!! I didn't have onion and then I used greenish onion instead. Combined a lot of ingredients together and simply simmered 20 minutes (but I used serlion steak instead) turned out Amazing!!!
03/01/2015
So, and so good! I used white vino instead of red, left out the red pepper, and used cornstarch instead of flour since one of my dinner guests is gluten intolerant, and it was a huge hit. (Manifestly over rice instead of noodles.)
03/21/2015
crawly with some modifications. I found I needed to add more wine and more broth. Less cream cheese and more sour foam. yum.
07/16/2012
OH MY! This was super flavorful, a lilliputian bit different than the ordinary stroganoff and actually hearty! Utilise whatever cut of meat you want, but if you go with the cheaper cuts, only be sure to permit enough cooking time to insure the meat is tender. This i's a definite keeper... fifty-fifty picky husband was impressed!
02/07/2015
Absolutely fabulous. Marinated steaks in red vino for four hours. Other than that, didn't modify a affair Dinner club loved it & information technology was so easy.
05/03/2012
This was THE all-time stroganoff I've ever had and I didn't fifty-fifty get in right. 1st I made it with some ground turkey I had on manus. It wasn't saucy plenty and I was rushed then I just added goop until I got it the consistency I wanted. Next fourth dimension will add more of the other sauce elements also. I also used reddish wine vinegar as I had no wine on paw, and craven broth because it was what I had and I ended up forgetting to add the pepper flakes (I'll add them next time). The vinegar, mustard and Worcestershire melded to a very nice distinct season. I volition definitely be making this one again. Update: This is nonetheless my goto stroganoff recipe (so much amend when done right). Information technology's some work but sooo worth it the fam loves it. do yourself a favor and try it at to the lowest degree once.
11/09/2014
My husband loved this recipe! I changed information technology as I wanted to work with what I had on hand. Instead of making the mushrooms in the pan with flour, I used a can of cream of mushroom soup equally a brusk cutting. I used the beef bouillon and added to water. My husband is a bit picky virtually spice so I cut back a little on the scarlet pepper flakes but he loved information technology so much that adjacent time I will employ the full amount. I think that I will also employ larger cuts of beef and cook a scrap longer for tenderness. All in all it was very delicious!
12/06/2012
This recipe just didn't work out too well for me. The sauce was initially too thick, I eventually added water and information technology thinned out. The sauce was really expert before the cream cheese and sour cream. The meat just never got tender. I simmered for 2 hours and it was still tough. I did not like the taste of the cream cheese. The consistency was really proficient with the foam cheese but the taste was non to my liking. Next fourth dimension I would use a better cut of meat, double the sour cream and skip the cream cheese. Then it could be exceptional.
08/ten/2012
This was just the recipe nosotros'd been looking for! I used the chuck as suggested past the original recipe and it was enough tender. I also followed other user'due south suggestions and had marinaded information technology in blood-red wine, though I call back next time I'yard going to follow the original with white wine to run into the divergence. I also added 2 tbsp garlic and fresh mushrooms when sauteeing the onions, so added i/3 cup of cream cheese when I added the sour foam at the end of the cooking fourth dimension. The whole family loved information technology! There weren't fifty-fifty whatever leftovers!
xi/xviii/2011
Fantastic! I've tried more than a few stroganoff recipes and this one is past far the all-time!
09/06/2012
Exceptional! I'd requite ten stars if I could. Takes a piffling time but well worth information technology. I used blood-red wine instead of water and Wow! Soooo goood! A keeper.
03/09/2019
Calls for mode to much carmine pepper flakes
04/05/2017
Very good! My hubby really enjoyed this and it was cracking on a cold winter day. The only thing I did differently is saute the mushrooms and onions together and so added the beef (without patting it dry) I doubt information technology made whatever deviation in the results. Very tender - I served with brownish rice. Delicious as a leftover equally well.
09/21/2012
Right off the bat....I subbed. I used ground beef in place of the roast so I didn't marinate, obviously. I used just enough red pepper flakes to give it a tiny kick(maybe a pinch). We thought this was very good only I already utilize sour cream & cream cheese due west/a tin can of cream of mushroom soup for my reg stroganoff & I didn't find this anymore flavorful or different at all. I think I'll stick to the easier version(mine) but if you're cutting pre-pkg'd foods out of your diet, this 1'southward for you!!
12/30/2011
Wow! Dee-lish! This does pack a little punch, and though I like it, I will pull dorsum to 1 1/ii tsp. red pepper flakes, next time. I used one pound of meat, but kept the sauce every bit written, so in that location would be lots of yummy sauce for our egg noodles. Served with steamed broccoli for contrast in simplicity and cute color on the plate. Thanks for the recipe!
10/22/2014
Overall very good! This was my showtime time making Beefiness Stroganoff, and information technology was an easy recipe to follow. I did everything per the recipe except for ii things. I used about one/2 the beef (then glad I did) and 1/2 the cherry-red pepper flakes (also glad I did). My husband said it was still a little as well spicy for him, though I was okay with it. Giving this a 4 stars based on those 2 things, and when I make again, will use a higher quality beef. It did get tender with this cooking, just nosotros like the texture of higher quality. The flavour was great! Heads upwardly this does take awhile to cook, cutting the meat was the most time consuming and labor-some. I definitely recommend it and adjust the recipe to your liking.
02/01/2012
This recipe is delicious, although I do think information technology takes a lot of prep time. I forgot to put the sour foam and cream cheese in, and it was still delicious. I put them in the left overs the next day, and retrieve its better without. MUCH less fatty likewise!
02/16/2015
Holy cow, we made one commutation plain greek yogurt for sour cream well and used 5 cloves of garlic just I'thousand sure either way information technology didn't make a difference. What a fantastic recipe. Beloved love love it! Tin can't wait to make it again. No leftovers because everyone overate!
01/21/2012
reduced cherry-red pepper to 1/4 tsp. Burst to my flavour buds! Will brand again
06/08/2013
Really, really nice stroganoff. I did knock off one star for the recipe as written as there is no mode I would utilise 2t of crimson pepper flakes. I used a 1/2t and y'all could withal experience the rut. Didn't accept any foam cheese, only it was just fine using only sour foam. I would as well recommend calculation some herbs, similar thyme, rosemary and parsley.
01/eleven/2015
This has to be the very best beef stroganoff I have ever made. The creaminess is outstanding. My husband raved about it with every seize with teeth he took. He's not a big fan of cream cheese and so I waited till the cease to tell him that it was so creamy because of the sour cream and cream cheese. Will definitely make again and it's the only beef stroganoff recipe I will use.
10/28/2012
OMG this was amazing. So creamy and hearty. Nosotros followed other reviewers' advice and cut back on the crushed red pepper - we gave the skillet two good shakes from the dispenser, and information technology turned out just correct. We as well substituted dijon mustard for the prepared mustard. Followed the rest of the recipe simply as written, using a bandage fe skillet. Just be sure to watch it while information technology's simmering - ours started to burn to the bottom of the skillet. We served information technology over egg noodles and topped with breadcrumbs, with a petty of the Pinot Noir we used for the marinade. SO expert.
12/18/2011
My family loved this meal. The flavour was wonderful. We used a peak cut of beef and retrieve this was important.
02/22/2012
very good, but VERY fattening. I would suggest using just a spray of olive oil for all the sautéing instead of all that butter, and low fat or fat complimentary sour cream and cream cheese. ALSO…2 tsp of red pepper flakes is style likewise much. I used one and it was still a chip besides hot. And I similar spicy nutrient for the virtually part.
12/eighteen/2011
Excellent I wouldn't change a matter.
05/11/2012
I fabricated this exactly every bit written. It takes time, but the layering of flavors was very enjoyable. The only affair I would do next time is reduce the amount of cerise pepper flakes - simply our taste. Otherwise, would highly recommend. Cheers for the submission!
01/22/2012
I don't why I never thought to put mustard and worchestire in stroganoff so when I saw this I was excited to try it. Very good. I used cayenne pepper for the kicking and that was a surprise. This was skillful merely not five stars. I can't put my finger on it, peradventure it'south the cream cheese. I've never put cream cheese in stroganoff. All in all, it'south a practiced staple to have in your arsenal.
05/02/2015
Beefiness chuck was tough. Information technology needed to melt a couple more hours earlier it would have been tender. Would likewise cutting the reddish pepper flakes, every bit information technology was quite spicy. Definitely employ a better cut of meat.
02/07/2012
This is a great recipe!! I left out the red pepper flakes as it didn't seem right for stroganoff to exist hot/spicy. Then added about a clove more garlic, a teaspoon of dried crushed thyme and a tablespoon of parsley. This will get a staple in my household. My family doesn't like mushrooms, so I had to omit those, just it was all the same wonderful.
04/02/2012
This was the all-time beef stroganoff I have ever had!!! The ingredients were then flavorful and the measurements were spot on. The but affair I did differently was I used skirt steak. I notice the chuck steak to exist too tough when information technology cooks in the sauce for that long, so I seared information technology, and then added it in at the terminate for like 10 minutes to heat through. The meat was very tender and the sauce was absolutely succulent!!!
12/xiv/2019
One of the best things I have always put in my mouth! This will be a regular make in my business firm concord!
12/22/2011
I doubled the recipe for a holiday potluck at work and information technology disappeared so fast I barely got a taste of it. Didn't change the recipe at all, and it was delicious!
12/fifteen/2011
One of my fav versions of stroganoff. Very rich...
03/04/2012
Followed this recipe exactly and thoroughly loved it. I thought maybe 2 t. of pepper flakes would exist too much merely my married man said it was fine. The only matter negative I could say would be I don't know how this would feed 8. Seems to me probably iv people but I guess that would depend on the serving size. I would definitely make this once more.
07/19/2012
Amazeballs!!! I Volition omit the crushed red peppers completely next time. Family thought it was way too hot when their mouths were called-for. Without the crushed red peppers this is "5 star dining" all the way!!!
01/18/2012
Very adept. I was afraid of the pepper flakes and but used one/ii t. Still had a slight kick. I think side by side fourth dimension I will omit them entirely. I like spicy food but not spicy stroganoff.
11/12/2011
I havent' even finished cooking this dish yet and can already tell you it's amazing! I added a little extra garlic, but because I dearest garlic.
08/16/2012
YUMMY!!!
01/02/2012
My family of 7 LOVED this meal. I cut the red pepper in half, and my younger children withal thought it was likewise spicy so adjacent time I volition just use a one/4 of the cherry-red pepper. The residue of u.s. loved information technology with half though. I too used stew meat instead of roast.
01/23/2012
yummy, all I had were low fatty sour cream and foam cheese which were a little sweet then to counter act that I used a couple tablespoons of buttermilk. Perfect!! My picky teen ate enough for another teen!!!!
03/09/2019
I made this for the 2nd time this weekend and liked it much ameliorate than last! Added more than mushrooms and cutting the pepper flakes in half. Used some sirloin I'd gotten on sale and let it sit in the marinade near of the solar day. Information technology was skillful final fourth dimension--this time it was wonderful!!!
09/08/2019
Great sense of taste, but information technology was a bit bland. Needed more salt and pepper, and by using a heavier red wine, letting the meat sort of marinate in the vino longer than 10 mins. ( More as 45 min. to 1 hour). Turned out neat. Used chuck roast with plenty of marbling. The vino bankrupt down the toughness. Will utilise this recipe again.
02/07/2012
This was excellent! I made the recipe equally written. I thought it was perfect. 1 of the kids thought it was too spicy. I'm sure information technology would yet be skilful with one-half the pepper.
03/05/2019
Really loved this recipe. I inverse a few things. I used a roast that I cut into 1/2' strips and marinated the meat with a Cabernet Sauvignon for 3 iii hours. I did not pat the meat dry out prior to lightly browning information technology in the olive oil. I then sauteed the onions and garlic in the butter and later added the mushrooms with. I removed this and melted the butter and added the flour and made the roux. When this was cooked added the onions, mushrooms, garlic, meat back along with all the other ingredients except the cheese and sour cream. Simmered it on the stove for about an 60 minutes then added the foam and cheese. Information technology had a wonderful flavor from the Cab. Will exist making this once more. Cheers for the recipe.
02/15/2015
I saw the 5 star rating and had to endeavor it. Succulent! I followed directions just threw in some broccoli I needed to utilize up. Soo good!
03/16/2013
Awesome!!! The best Beef Stroganoff recipe I have ever made and I've made a few. I agree though with one of the comments that two tsp of red pepper flakes is a little to much. I am calculation this to my repertoire.
08/15/2015
Everything was fine until I put pretty much everything in the pan to let it simmer for an hour. I followed all the directions perfectly and when information technology said to cover and simmer for an hour I had my doubts because I thought it would burn since information technology never said to stir. Just I wanted to follow all of the directions perfectly so I left information technology in the pan. I came back fifteen minutes later and it looked practiced. I couldn't wait until it was washed. I came back 20 minutes later and the whole thing was burned. I was sad and it was very difficult to scrub. I saved a few pieces of the meat and they were very tasty merely the directions never said to stir. When you brand this I very much recommend that you stir information technology.
08/14/2013
I was taught to make stroganoff with a bundle. However, I didn't have the packet and needed it on the wing. This was amazing. My husband fifty-fifty promised a back massage for information technology. Thank you!!
11/08/2015
Tiresome and lacks flavor!!! Followed receive exactly.
04/23/2012
Awesome! I only changed a few things. I used 2lbs of stew meat since that is what I had. I added an additional 1/2 cup of water since I knew my meat needed to melt for 2 hrs to go tender. I added 1/2 tsp of Tarragon and reduced the Crushed Crimson pepper by half since my kids haven't quite gotten their spicy side yet. Cooked on cook summit for ii hrs and information technology was amazing. I did not add together cream cheese. Will definately brand this once again to apply upwards my stew meat. Thanks for the recipe!

This is a very good recipe and has very good flavor. I had left over beef roast with the juices it produced while in the crock pot and wanted a recipe I could use that in. This worked out perfectly. My meat was non marinated first and I don't like to review recipes if not made exactly simply I thought it was a small enough modify to warrant the review since I felt it was a very skilful recipe. I too added one/ii tsp pepper flakes instead of the full two (from the food co-op which I oftentimes detect I demand less than if I bought it from the grocery store). I don't like things overly spicy. I wasn't certain that picayune would have whatever upshot on it but information technology did and it was perfect for us. My husband thought information technology was a footling thick (could have been that I thickened information technology too much) and then I added some milk to thin it some and information technology didn't change the flavor at all. I liked it both ways, thick or sparse. I am not a big stroganoff fan (could exist because I usually take the foam of mushroom soup kind) but I actually looked forwards to the leftovers the adjacent day. The guys said it was a keeper and I should brand it again.

Yum! Used Dijon and reduced red pepper and added more fresh ground black pepper. Served with buttered broad egg noodles and parsley.

I did this in the slow cooker (add sour cream and mushrooms for the last one-half hr) and information technology was a large hit fifty-fifty with my pickiest eater. When I made it again I volition subtract or omit the mustard. That flavor was a little as well strong for our family unit. I as well decreased the pepper flakes for the kids.

I thought information technology was excellant. I have made it before with foam cheese and it does make it so flossy

Followed recipe, just establish information technology to be too bland.

Aye, slap-up recipe! Every bit always I added my own twists - Doubled it because nosotros (family unit of 5) didn't have enough as anybody wanted second plates on the first round draft! However, from original recipe, I doubled the mushrooms, added about 1/four loving cup cream, ane/8 cup cooking sherry and 1 more Tbsp Worcestershire. Also, used pancake mix instead of flour. Delicious!

This is my new favorite Beefiness Stroganoff recipe! I was a little bitter about having to share my wine, simply it was totally worth information technology. I didn't use red pepper flakes, because my kid hates spicy. Just a wonderful dish.

I followed directions and I didn't like the taste of information technology. I think information technology was the cherry wine flavor. I won't make once again.

Loved this recipe! So easy, I had 99% of the ingredients in my fridge which is what I love in a new recipe! Is in that location annihilation worse than having to buy things yous never really need more than a small amount of?! I used a roast that I had in the freezer, nosotros cut up our roasts from Costco to make them stretch further. This was the piffling guy so it was perfect. Did everything exactly as mentioned and served over egg noodles. Nosotros skipped on the mushrooms since we have a picky eater in the house. Has anyone tried to freeze this recipe? I wonder if I make a batch (excluding the sr.cream and crm.cheese) and then put it in the crock pot at apex. Let me know if anyone has tried that! Thanks for the recipe! I hope more people try this one out!!!

This recipe is delicious! I had been wanting to make a stroganoff from scratch and decided on this recipe. The only change I made was leaving out the mushrooms because my hubby and I don't actually like them. We loved the season and the spice the cherry-red pepper flakes gave! My married man said he could smell this cooking outside while he was doing yardwork and it made his mouth water. He was very happy it was coming from OUR kitchen when he came in for dinner! I will definitely be making this recipe over again. :)

I cut the cubed beefiness in half.. near 1.five lb's. I forgot to add together the sour cream and cream cheese (kids were very distracting) and used mixed veggies instead of mushrooms on a bed of veggie pasta. It was awesome, showtime time making Beef Stroganoff!

This is really, really practiced. I was looking for a recipe without cream of mushroom soup and gave this a try, though I had never fabricated a roux earlier. I used margarine, and with constant flattening, scraping and stirring with a rut-proof spatula in a cast fe skillet, it was bubbly and fragrant within about 3.5 minutes- to me, the scent was simply similar a pie crust. I had to substitute chicken stock for beef stock and white wine vinegar for red wine (was going to sub scarlet wine vinegar, only was out of that as well) and information technology still came out bully. I only added nearly half of the leftover marinade so the dish would't taste too vinegary. Likewise added dried oregano and basil, as another reviewer suggested, plus a little onion pulverisation. The beef stew meat I used simmered for nearly 1.v hours before the larger pieces became tender. I'll definitely never need some other stroganoff recipe. This would be great in the crockpot, afterwards cooking it on the stove until the indicate when everything is simmered together. Thanks, SANFRANCOOK!
